iPlease Australia Now An Authorised Data Robotics Drobo Reseller

Listen carefully .... can you hear that ? Its the sound of fireworks exploding off the top of the iPlease Australia office just outside Sydney as we celebrate becoming an authorised Drobo reseller.

Those of you who regularly listen to the MacBreak Weekly podcast from the US would have likely heard of the Drobo. It is a data storage "robot" which uses BeyondRAID technology to manage your data and keep it safe.

No need for a techy, you simply buy the Drobo unit that will suit your needs, there is a model for home use, one for small/medium business (Drobo S), one for pro's who need alot of data storage like photographers and digital media companies (Drobo Pro) and a top of the line storage or backup solution for enterprise level in the Drobo Elite.

BeyondRAID makes data storage easy. Load up some hard drives in the available bays, you only need a minimum of two drives to get started and Drobo takes over and does the rest managing redundancy across disks. Need more space then add more disks. Smaller disks full, pull them out and plug in a new disk, easy.

At iPlease Australia we are not just going to sell Drobo, we are going to actively use Drobo in our day to day business, we also plan to learn the product inside out to support the customers who choose to buy from us. We are just finalising a deal to also be able to supply hard disks with any Drobo order, saving our customers the hassle of tracking down disks to load when the Drobo arrives.

Look out for the Drobo range of products on our website towards the end of March 2010.

Trexta iPhone Cases Now Available In Australia

Trexta is a new up and coming Turkish company who have worked with Prada and Leica and who have now turned their attention to iPhone cases with some spectacular designs.

The Trexta name has cropped up alot in recent weeks in tweets, blogs and on podcasts. Trexta themselves have been at MacWorld Expo and CES before that showing their wares to the insatiable Apple community.

Of note at CES were some cases emulating flags; some of countries and another the checkered flag from motor racing. The talking point for Trexta at MacWorld was their "Sketch Up" iPhone case made from recycled paper and plastic. The idea of the "Sketch Up" case is to draw you own design on the case backing which is the recycled paper giving you a take anywhere note pad.

Some Trexta cases are now available in Australia, these are the Stripes Series and the Racing Series.

Stripes Series is the Italian flag colours; green, white and red laid on top either a white or black leather case, the end result is a striking case.

The Racing series reduces the stripes down to two colours this time laid on all an all black or all red case. For the motor racing fan or style guru these cases are well worth the look.

Trexta iPhone cases are available now online from iPlease Australia

MacSpeech Scribe Adds Transcription From Digital Audio For MacSpeech Dictate

Just announced at MacWorld 2010 by MacSpeech, the makers of MacSpeech Dictate voice recognition software for Intel Mac, is MacSpeech Scribe.

MacSpeech Scribe adds transcription from digitally recorded audio to the suite of features of MacSpeech Dictate. This frees up MacSpeech Dictate users from their iMacs or MacBooks, now all they need while out and about is an iPhone or certified digital voice recorder and their notes taken on the move can be loaded into Scribe which will then transcribe your digital audio.

This is largely due to the phenomenal recording quality of the Olympus digital voice recorders and the iPhone, which have all been certified to work with MacSpeech Scribe.

Scribe can take audio recorded in .aif, .aiff, .mp3, .m4a, .m4v and .wav format. More info on our main blog http://blog.iplease.com.au

iLuv Quick To Show Their Apple iPad Accessories

Very soon after Steve's chat a week or so ago informing the world of the new Apple iPad iLuv have a selection of iPad protective cases and sleeves in the pipeline.

iLuv have already stamped their name in the Apple accessory market with a stunning range of iPhone cases, portable dock speakers, headphones and earbuds and power options. Now they can add iPad accessories to their growing list of must haves.

The initial range gives a choice of silicon, fabric or leather protective cases and sleeves in varying designs and colours. My personal favourite is the fabric case with bank clip, a very classy looking iPad sleeve.

Finally, we have an iPhone solar battery charger

It has been a while but we have finally sourced a solar iPhone and iPod charger. We have been waiting for the Novothink Surge for a couple of months to make an appearance down under, which still hasn't happened. However we have found a great alternative in the Solio Mono-a.

The Solio Mono solar charger is a little different to the Novothink Surge in that it is not restricted to just the iPhone (the Surge is an iPhone case with a built in solar panel). The Solio Mono is a stand alone battery charged and topped up by the in built solar panel or by mains power/computer power via a USB port. The advantage of the Solio Mono is that it can charge a huge amount of gadgets, over 3200 - like mobile phones, PDA's, GPS, portable games consoles, digital cameras etc. In fact the perfect companion for a fishing trip, day at the beach or camping trip.

RRP in Australia is $119.95 incl. GST
